Grateful for the Past, Hopeful in our Future
We came to St. Ignatius in ‘75
We didn’t know a soul.
We found the community welcoming and warm
And we quickly found our role.
We raised four kids
Who thrived on sports, in service, and in school.
We chaired Family Fair, we coached, we drove
And progress was the rule.
And all the while our children grew
My wife taught here for 20 years.
It’s been worthwhile – we’d do it again
It’s been great with very few tears.
Now we face another threshold
We’ve stalled for way too long.
The kids are in need of a great new school –
So now you’re hearing my song.
There’s asbestos, leaks, sometimes no heat
The school’s shown wear and tear.
We’re all on board especially,
Since we now have grandkids there.
The staff is dedicated
Some have waited for so long.
Let’s support the kids and teachers
With an effort that’s really strong.
