Formation for Children
Religious Education
A program for school-age children from Kindergarten to Junior High on
Sundays (September - April) that gives children different opportunities
to learn about God and to grow in their faith and spiritual development.
The program includes preparation for the Sacraments of Reconciliation
(Confession), First Eucharist (Communion), and Junior High level
Confirmation. If your family was registered in this program last year,
you will automatically receive a registration packet in the mail for the
coming year. Program fees and more information are included in the
Religious Education Registration linked to the left. This program starts
on the 3rd Sunday of September.
RCIA for
Children
The Children’s RCIA Program is for school age children who have missed
Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, First Reconciliation, First Eucharist
and Confirmation. This program is offered on Sundays from 10:30 a.m. to
12 p.m. A Parent or guardian is required to attend classes. Families
enrolled in this program are under the umbrella of the Parish Religious
Education Program. Program fees and more information are included in the

through the Parish Religious Education Program. These sacraments are
usually received in the second grade. Program fees and more information
are included in the Religious Education Registration link to the left. Older children who need to receive
Eucharist and Reconciliation participate in the RCIA process for
children.
Confirmation Preparation - Junior
High
Confirmation is a
two-year process at the Junior High level in our parish school or
through our Parish Religious Education Program. Students are required to
attend Pre-Confirmation in their first year in order to be considered a
candidate for Confirmation in the second year. An additional fee for sacrament
preparation and a Baptismal Certificate (copy) will be requested during
the 2nd year of the program. Program fees and more information are
included in the Religious Education Registration link above.
Children's Liturgy of
the Word
This year-round program for school-age children (K-6th grade) is offered
during the Sunday 9:30 a.m. Mass. Children are invited to leave the main
Church sanctuary with an adult Catechist prior to the Liturgy of the
Word, and are led to the Chapel or Rose Room. This program provides
children with age appropriate explanations of the Sunday readings, and
uses related activities to enhance their understanding. Children return
to their families before the Offertory. There is no cost or registration
required for children to participate. Children's Liturgy is part of our
Sunday worship and parents are encouraged to take
advantage of this special program.
Volunteers
The Religious Education Program, Children’s Liturgy of the Word, and the
Friends of Jesus Preschool Program are always in need of people who
would like to share their time and talents with the young of our parish.
If you are interested in volunteering, complete the
volunteer’s
application and return it to the Catechetical Office. An interview and
background check with fingerprinting is required by the Parish and the
Diocese. |
