THE FRUIT OF LABOR: OUR PARISH TODAY
Although St. Ignatius is still home to many of our founding families, it is rapidly changing from a
parish that once epitomized the 1950s. As a dynamic and thriving community, St. Ignatius is
becoming a parish that reflects the reality of 21st Century America.
Above all, remember that God looks for solid virtues in us, such as patience, humility, obedience, abnegation of your own will - that is, the good will to serve Him and our neighbor in Him. His providence allows us other devotions only insofar as He sees that they are useful to us.
In response to the unprecedented growth of our Jesuit family, ministries continue to be formed to strengthen parishioners’ faith and offer opportunities of service as disciples of Christ. These
ministries are divided into the following categories:
VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED to help with Children’s Liturgy of the Word on Sundays
The Department of Catechetical Ministries at St. Ignatius Loyola Parish is seeking volunteers who would like to help to share the stories of Jesus with our young children. We are looking for individuals who can donate one hour of their time once or twice a month, to help with the Children’s Liturgy of the Word on Sunday. We are in a great need to get extra volunteers. If you hear the call or the invitation in your heart, do not disregard it. Please contact Fatima Avila-Ohlsen, Director of Catechetical Ministries to discuss this possibility with you at (916) 482-9666, ext. 238, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
