Mr. Michael Cheney, CIS Director
Michael Cheney is an experienced Ignatian spiritual director, and retreat director. In the Diocese of Sacramento he serves on the Ignatian Spirituality Formation team for permanent deacon candidates and their spouses. Michael teaches theology full time at Jesuit High School in Sacramento. He taught theology and philosophy as a part-time adjunct instructor at Mt. St. Mary’s College in Los Angeles. He served as a faculty member for five years in the St. Pierre Favre Program for the Training of Spiritual Directors in the Spiritual Exercises at the Jesuit Retreat Center in Los Altos, California. During the summers, Michael is involved with International Samaritan and takes a group of seniors to Central America to work with and assist families who work and live in garbage dump communities. Michael has a BA and MA in Spanish from St. Louis University and a MA in Religious Studies from Mt. St. Mary’s University in Los Angeles.
