Prayers and Community Intentions

We come together as a community to pray with and for one another.

"But God has so constructed the body as to give greater honor to a part that is without it, so that there may be no division in the body, but that the parts may have the same concern for one another. If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it; if one part is honored, all the parts share its joy."

1 Corinthians 12: 24-26

Weekly Prayers of the Faithful

6th Sunday of Easter- May 5, 2024

  1. For clergy and lay leaders in the Church, that they may ground their leadership in Jesus’ commandment of love.
  2. For nations throughout the world, that wealthy nations may lift up and empower poor nations so all may become one.
  3. For all who are struggling for the basic needs of life -- for the hungry, the homeless, and those seeking meaningful employment: open our hearts to attend to their needs.
  4. For all the mothers whom we honor and remember through our Spiritual Bouquet of masses this month. May we be grateful for the ways they have reflected God’s love for us throughout our lives.
  5. For all who come to the table of the Lord for the first time this weekend, may they continue to grow in faith and in the love of God in the reception of the Holy Eucharist.

May 2024: For the formation of religious and seminarians

We pray that religious women and men, and seminarians, grow in their own vocations through their human, pastoral, spiritual and community formation, leading them to be credible witnesses to the Gospel.

The Magnificat

My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord,

my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,

for he has looked with favor on his humble servant.

From this day all generations will call me blessed,

the Almighty has done great things for me,

and holy is his Name.

He has mercy on those who fear Him

in every generation.

He has shown the strength of his arm,

he has scattered the proud in their conceit.

He has cast down the mighty from their thrones,

and has lifted up the humble.

He has filled the hungry with good things,

and the rich he has sent away empty.

He has come to the help of his servant Israel

for he has remembered his promise of mercy,

the promise he made to our fathers,

to Abraham and his children for ever.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy

Spirit,

as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever.

Amen, Alleluia.

Prayer for the Capital Campaign

Dearest Lord,

Teach us to be generous,

Help us to servve you and your people as you deserve,

To give generously without counting the cost,

To Toil and not to seek for rest,

To labor together for your greater glory

and for the good of our parish and school.

We give you thanks for this opportunity,

and for all the blessings we have received from you,

for Our Future, Our Faith, Our Time,

Through Christ our Lord.

Prayer to Know God’s Will

May it please the supreme and divine Goodness

to give us all abundant grace

ever to know his most holy will

and perfectly to fulfill it.

Suscipe

Take, Lord, and receive all my liberty,

my memory, my understanding,

and my entire will,

All I have and call my own.

You have given all to me.

To you, Lord, I return it.

Everything is yours; do with it what you will.

Give me only your love and your grace,

that is enough for me.
