Sunday, March 1, 2026-Fr. Tom Lucas, S.J.
Topic: A Historical Overview of Catholic Social Teaching
Fr. Tom Lucas, S.J. offered a broad historical overview of Catholic Social Teaching. He traced foundations from our Hebrew roots and the Law, reflected on lessons from Abraham and Sarah in the Old Testament and moved through Pope Leo XIII’s call for workers’ rights and lessons of Vatican II, among other key moments in tradition. Session 2: Upcoming
Sunday, March 22, 2026-Susannah Nelson
Topic: The Seven Tenets of Catholic Social Teaching
This session will review each of the Seven Tenets of Catholic Social Teaching, with an emphasis on how they can be used as a decision-making tool in one’s daily life. Special attention will be given to the foundational first tenet—Respect for Life and Human Dignity—and how this essential principle underpins all the others and leads us toward social justice. Presentation by former Catholic School educator and administrator.
All are welcome to attend.
