Social Justice Ministry
On July 4, 2025, Fr. Tom Lucas offered a powerful homily reminding us that while we may not change the world overnight, we can change our hearts and respond with compassion where we are. In the face of policies that harm the poor and vulnerable, we are called—as Catholics—to uphold the dignity of every person, made in the image of God.
Inspired by Fr. Tom’s message, we are renewing our parish’s Coalition for Racial Equity under a new name: the Social Justice Ministry. Rooted in Catholic Social Teaching and Ignatian spirituality, this ministry will focus on prayer, education, and advocacy that reflects our faith in action—especially toward those in greatest need.

The leadership team of this ministry includes Cheryl Mello, Rene Cardenas, Susannah Nelson and Maribel Arizmendiz.
