Altar Servers

Alter servers are in charge of assisting the priest in many tasks like preparing the altar, presenting the gifts, and

carrying processional items. Being close to the altar and the Eucharist allows them to directly serve the Body and Blood of Christ, while participating in the sacred mysteries in a way that deepens their understanding and reverence for the Mass. Altar servers have a special role in supporting the liturgy and helping everyone focus on prayer. Altar serving is not just a task but a ministry that contributes to the beauty and dignity of the Mass.

Our young altar servers have been learning, practicing, and putting their faith into action this fall! Fifth graders at the Parish School began their training in September, while sixth-grade servers completed refresher training in early October. Students have also gained experience serving at Tuesday morning Masses.

In our Youth Faith Formation program, 33 students have been participating in altar server training with their instructor, Michelle Hooper, and Rich Romo. We thank our young people for their willingness to serve, and our instructors for helping them prepare for this important ministry.
