Fall and Advent Series
Fall Series Sundays with our Patron Saint. Join Fr. Tom Lucas and Shari Roeseler in October to learn
about the life of St. Ignatius of Loyola and the spiritual practices he developed through his faith journey.
Sunday, October 11th
from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Church– We will follow St. Ignatius as a young man, to his time in Manresa and his work founding the Society of Jesus. This presentation will feature curated artwork about the life of St. Ignatius.
Sunday, October 18th
from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Ministries Room– We will delve into the spiritual practices that fostered a deep sense of “God in All Things” for St. Ignatius. This will be an opportunity to learn about the Spiritual Exercises, the Daily Examen, and Imaginative prayer with the Gospels.
Shari Roeseler
Executive Director Society for the Blind
Shari Roeseler is the Executive Director of Society for the Blind, which provides blindness education and low vision eye care to people with vision loss in a 26-county region of northern California and the state of Nevada.
Prior to joining Society for the Blind in 2012, she served as Executive Director for St. Anthony Foundation, one of the largest non-profit social service agencies in San Francisco. Shari served for nine years as the Vice President of Resource Development for the West Region of Mercy Housing a well-known national non-profit affordable housing organization.
She has a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a Masters in Theological Studies -Ethics/Bio-Ethics from Santa Clara University- Jesuit School of Theology. In 2019 she completed the 2-year Giving the Exercises Program at St. Ignatius Parish.
Shari has accompanied many people through the Spiritual Exercises and served on the faculty of the Giving the Exercises Spiritual Director Training Program for St. Monica Catholic Church from 2020-2024.
She has conducted numerous workshops for Mercy Center Auburn, the former center in Burlingame and at parishes and churches in the Sacramento region.
Shari serves on the Board for CAABVI – California Agencies of the Blind and Visually Impaired, a statewide coalition of agencies serving people with vision loss and blindness. She also serves on the CA Dept. of Aging’s Statewide Aging and Disability Resources Advisory Committee.
