Volunteer Certification
All volunteers over the age of eighteen at parishes and schools within the Sacramento Diocese must undergo training and receive clearance from the state of California before working with children or vulnerable adults. We must guarantee the safety of every child in our schools and parishes, and this is one of the methods the Church has chosen to try to begin the process of rebuilding trust.
All volunteers and employees at St. Ignatius Parish and School must complete a Safe Environment training and a background check. Unique certification must be obtained for each institution, i.e. completion of training and background check at one parish cannot be transferred to another parish. The training and background check must be completed for St. Ignatius even if you have already completed them for a different parish.
Volunteer Required Items
Thank you so much for volunteering at St. Ignatius. We understand that this added burden can be seen as unnecessary by some people, but the unfortunate reality of our present situation is that we cannot continue as we have in the past. Please join us in making St. Ignatius a model for our community in the protection of children and vulnerable adults.
